T-RAIN / PRODUCT GUIDE

Umbrella or raincoat? Choosing for your day

An umbrella can be convenient for a short walk. A raincoat may be more practical when you need both hands or expect to move around for longer. The best choice depends on the activity, what you are carrying and how you plan to use it.

When an umbrella makes sense

For a short trip, an umbrella lets you keep your usual clothing without adding another layer. Think about your bag, other belongings and where you will put the wet umbrella when you arrive. Wind and freedom of movement matter too.

  • Will you have a hand free while carrying your belongings?
  • How long will you be outdoors?
  • Where will you leave the wet umbrella at your destination?

When you need your hands free

Rainwear keeps your hands available for other tasks. Check the fit, cuffs and front fastening over your clothing. A long coat covers the upper body and part of the legs; a two-piece rainsuit adds a separate garment for lower-body coverage.

For an activity such as motorcycling, review the relevant product range and intended-use information. Pay attention to how the cut, hood and hem work with your equipment and movement.

A poncho offers another option

A poncho slips over the head and offers a looser shape. Check length, arm openings and side fastenings. If you want to wear it over a bag, compare the dimensions with the bag in place. Browse the T-Rain PY-1820 poncho alongside raincoats and two-piece suits.
