T-RAIN / PRODUCT GUIDE
Is PU rainwear necessarily breathable?
Do not confuse a PU material description with measured breathability. Prepare appropriate use and data questions for TR-1000.
Quick answer
PU alone is not a breathability rating. Coating, fabric construction and the complete garment matter. If a particular value is needed, request technical data with the method and exact model scope.
Perceived perspiration is not a measurement
Moisture felt during use varies with activity, temperature and underlayers. Record these conditions when assessing a sample, but do not present that observation as a laboratory breathability value. Matching material names do not establish matching measured results.
Record material and expectations separately
TR-1000 has published PU-coated fabric and 180 g/m² figures. These do not replace a numerical breathability claim. Explain duration and layering for outdoor work, assess the cut, and separately confirm every performance figure required by the specification.
- Ask for the performance method and unit.
- Record trial conditions alongside temperature and activity.
Current model data and technical sources
This table uses the same data as product pages and model TDS documents. Fabric mass is in g/m², not finished product weight. Missing fields require confirmation.
| Model / collection | Materials and fabric mass | Sizes / packing | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| TR-1000 | Fabric: PU-coated fabric · 180 g/m² | XS–3XL 20 units | Model TDS Care instructions |
| Stay Dry men’s raincoat | Fabric: Coated fabric · 180 g/m² | XS–3XL 20 units | Model TDS Care instructions |
Is 180 g/m² a breathability value?
No. It is fabric mass per area. Breathability is a separate property.
