T-RAIN / PRODUCT GUIDE

PVC vs PU rainwear: what to compare

Choosing between PVC and PU means comparing complete garments, not just two material names. The right option depends on construction, fit and the conditions in which you will use it. Compare models designed for the same type of use.

Compare the complete garment

T-Rain’s Y-7600 is a PVC raincoat, while the TR-1000 Inspired By the Nature raincoat uses PU-coated fabric. Compare length, hood, cuffs, pockets and front fastening alongside the material. A difference in fit or design may come from the cut rather than the coating.

  • Check both the base fabric and coating.
  • Compare length and fit over your clothing.
  • Review joins, fastenings and pockets.

Check any required performance data

A PU label alone does not establish a breathability rating. Water-related performance also depends on the complete garment. If your work requires breathability data or a specific protective class, request the current technical information for the exact model.

Allow for lining and clothing layers

Lining affects the inside of the garment and how it fits over other clothes. Consider your layers, movement and how long you expect to wear the product. Review material, lining and sizing together to make a useful comparison.

Include the model code and intended use when requesting a sample or further details. Follow the selected product’s own label and technical instructions for care.
