Inspecting boot-to-fabric connections on waders
Record visible separation, deformation and damage around the join by model code. Inspection is not a standard leak test.
Quick answer
Visually inspect the boot-to-fabric connection before use. Record any visible opening or damage with its location. An intact appearance does not establish a particular leak-test result.
Inspect the join from all sides
Inspect front, rear and sides rather than relying on one angle or an area covered by underlayers. If dirt or folding hides part of the join, expose it using the permitted care method. Record upper fabric and boot material separately.
Turn the record into a support enquiry
Include a whole-product image, close-up, code, size and when the issue was noticed. Ask for a model-specific method rather than trying unknown adhesives or heat treatments. Do not present a visual inspection as a laboratory report.
- Inspect front, rear and side connections.
- Show damage location and product identity together.

Does a join photograph replace a water test?
No. A photograph shows visible condition. Test method and conditions need separate evidence.
