T-RAIN / PRODUCT GUIDE
Sizing rainwear over winter clothing
Check shoulder, sleeve and waist movement over coats and layers instead of automatically going up one size.
Quick answer
Sizing over winter clothing needs a fitting with the actual layers. Going up one size is not universally correct. Check shoulders, sleeves, body room and seated fit together.
Keep the usual layer volume during fitting
Trying a sample over a T-shirt before wearing it over a heavy coat is misleading. Use the normal midlayer, coat and any gloves. Reach forward with the rainwear fully fastened and record cuffs pulling away from the wrists or tension across the chest.
Check top and trousers separately
For a suit, try the trousers over winter legwear too. Knee bending, sitting and waist overlap are separate from jacket fit. Compare a published size chart with garment measurements; do not invent dimensions from size letters.
- Record which layers were used in the fitting.
- Test sitting and reaching with the garment fastened.
